The Cascadia Renaissance Faire & Highland Games is located on the beautiful grounds of Cowlitz River Rentals, near Randle, Washington. Cascadia welcomes our campers to enjoy the full weekend of fun and excitement with us! Please read the following information carefully before arriving, including the fire, pet, and trash guidance below and the Faire-wide Policy, Rules, and Expectations.

By purchasing or using a camping space, you agree to follow these camping guidelines and are responsible for making sure everyone in your group understands and follows them. Failure by a member of your group to follow campground or Faire rules may result in the individual or, when necessary, the entire group being asked to leave.

When can campers arrive?

Camping check-in is available during the following times:

Friday, September 4:
12:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Saturday, September 5:
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Please plan your arrival so you have sufficient daylight and time to locate and set up your campsite safely.

When do campers need to leave?

All campers must be completely packed up and off the property no later than 11:00 AM on Monday, September 7.

Campers may choose to break camp and leave earlier on Saturday, September 5 or Sunday, September 6 at their discretion.

When breaking camp, please be especially cautious of pedestrians, other campsites, and Faire traffic.

Where is Faire camping located, and how do I get there?

Please follow these directions carefully. The camping entrance can be easy to miss, and GPS navigation may attempt to route you through neighboring private property.

The campground entrance is an access road that runs south from Hwy 12 into the fields, approximately one-half mile west of Randle. It is almost directly across from the west end of Silverbrook Road.

These coordinates will take you to the access road at approximately Milepost 114.5 on Hwy 12, just west of Randle, WA.

You may also follow the detailed written directions provided by Cowlitz River Rentals. Once you reach the campground entrance, follow the posted signs and instructions.

Very Important

Campground access is from Hwy 12 ONLY.

There is NO campground access from:

• SR 131
• McKay Street
• Peters Road
• Baugh Road
• Any neighboring driveway or private property

DO NOT drive into neighboring driveways. There are no other access points to the campground.

Please use and share the coordinates and these directions with everyone in your camping group.

DO NOT drop or share a GPS pin or waypoint from inside the property or from your individual campsite. Doing so may cause navigation apps to direct other campers through private property or roads that do not provide campground access.

Where can I set up my campsite?

Camping is allocated to the north fields.

For our first year, camping will be pick your own campsite within the designated camping areas. Campground roads and travel lanes will be marked and must remain clear at all times.

Beyond the marked roads, campers may select an available space within the designated camping area.

Please be considerate when choosing your site. Leave reasonable space for neighboring campers and do not block marked roads, access lanes, or other campsites.

Can I keep my car at my campsite?

Once you have unloaded your camping equipment, we ask that vehicles be moved to the designated long-term parking area.

Keeping unnecessary vehicles out of the camping area reduces vehicle traffic and helps prevent someone from accidentally driving through another campsite at night or during periods of low visibility.

Exceptions are permitted when:

• You are actively camping or sleeping in your vehicle.
• You need your vehicle nearby for medical reasons.

Please follow any parking or traffic instructions provided by Faire or campground staff.

Where do RVs camp?

RV camping is separate from the general camping area.

If you need additional camping space for tents, shelters, or other camping equipment associated with your RV, please set it up beside the RV rather than lengthwise in front of or behind it.

This helps keep campground roads and access lanes consistent and unobstructed.

There are no individual water hookups at RV campsites.

What if I'm camping in my SUV, sedan, or van?

SUVs, sedans, vans, and other passenger vehicles being used for sleeping or camping should camp in the regular camping area rather than the RV area.

This arrangement helps maintain clear sightlines and improves vehicle and pedestrian safety throughout the campground.

If your camping party includes both an RV and people camping in passenger vehicles, please position the passenger vehicles beside the tail end of the RV rather than extending the campsite lengthwise.

This helps maintain visibility and reduces the risk of accidents.

What are the speed limits in the campground?

Please drive slowly.

Speed limit on the graveled access roadway: 10 mph
Speed limit elsewhere on the property: 5 mph

The campground is pastureland, and dry conditions can create significant dust. Slower speeds help keep dust away from campsites and improve safety for pedestrians, children, pets, and other Faire guests.

Please remember: you have arrived at camp. Relax and take it easy!

Are there quiet hours?

Yes – Quiet hours in all campgrounds are 10 pm – 7 am

We ask all campers to practice respect and consideration for their neighbors at all times, especially after dark.

Campsites are spaced apart, so if another campsite can clearly hear your music, entertainment, or voices, the volume is probably too high.

Large group campsites are wonderful places to gather with friends and family, but they are not an invitation to disrupt neighboring camps.

Please:

• Keep music and conversations at a reasonable volume.
• Check whether your sound can be heard at neighboring campsites.
• Avoid amplified or blaring music.
• Do not bring karaoke or similarly loud entertainment.
• Keep language and behavior appropriate for a shared, family-friendly campground.

Campers who repeatedly create excessive noise or disturb neighboring camps may be asked to leave.

Is drinking water available?

Water is available from a spigot and hose near the entrance gate.

Campers with RVs, trailers, or other vehicles requiring water should fill their tanks on the way into the campground.

There are no individual water hookups at campsites.

What are the campground roads and sites like?

This is pastureland, not a developed RV campground.

Roads leading to campsites may be uneven or bumpy. Expect:

• Dust during dry weather
• Mud during wet weather
• Uneven natural terrain

Please plan accordingly.

What fire restrictions apply for the 2026 Faire?

Current 2026 Camping Fire Restriction

Although Lewis County has lifted its countywide burn ban, a burn ban remains in effect for all Cascadia Renaissance Faire camping areas at Cowlitz River Rentals.

Absolutely No Wood Fires!

Wood fires of any kind are prohibited. This includes campfires, fire pits, wood-burning stoves, burn barrels, and any other fire using wood or similar combustible materials.

Propane and Charcoal Are Permitted

Campers may use:

Propane camp stoves, grills, and other approved propane appliances, provided they are operated safely and according to manufacturer instructions.

Charcoal grills, provided the charcoal is contained in an appropriate, purpose-built grill or container and is fully extinguished after use.

Never leave propane appliances or charcoal fires unattended. Please keep appropriate fire-extinguishing materials, such as water or a fire extinguisher, readily available.

Faire Fire Rules Remain in Effect

The lifting of the Lewis County burn ban does not lift the Cascadia Renaissance Faire camping-area burn ban. These restrictions are being maintained for the safety of our guests, the property, and the surrounding community.

Fire conditions can change quickly. Campers must comply with any additional fire-safety instructions issued by Cascadia Renaissance Faire staff, Cowlitz River Rentals, or local fire authorities.

Are fireworks allowed?

No.

Fireworks and firecrackers of any kind are prohibited.

Are firearms or weapons allowed in the campground?

The discharge of firearms or other potentially dangerous weapons is prohibited on the property.

Please also review the weapons section of the Faire-wide Policy, Rules, and Expectations before arriving.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are permitted, but owners are completely responsible for their animals and for any injury or property damage they cause.

If your pet runs from your campsite, approaches passersby, barks at people passing your camp, behaves aggressively, or cannot reliably remain under your control, you will be expected to keep the animal leashed or otherwise securely restrained.

Please remember that this is a rural property. Eagles, hawks, coyotes, and other predators live in the area. Owners of small pets should take appropriate precautions.

Please pick up all solid waste from your pets. Doggy waste bags should be placed in your own campsite trash and then taken to the dumpster, not left around the property or placed in porta-potty trash containers.

Are bicycles, ATVs, UTVs, or dirt bikes allowed?

Bicycles are welcome.

ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes are not permitted on the property due to insurance requirements.

Can we swim or play in the Cowlitz River?

Yes, but all river use is at your own risk.

The Cowlitz is a natural river whose depth, current, channels, and underwater conditions can change.

Please:

• Closely supervise children.
• Check water depth before entering.
• Check for submerged rocks, logs, branches, and other obstacles.
• Use caution when swimming or floating.
• Do not dive into unfamiliar water.
• Watch carefully for submerged obstacles while floating.

Every camper is responsible for deciding whether river conditions are appropriate for themselves and members of their group.

Can we take glass containers to the river?

Please don't.

When enjoying the river or beach areas, use cans or plastic containers rather than glass.

Never leave trash in or along the river.

Are there risks from trees?

Yes. This is a natural property containing many large trees, including cottonwood, maple, alder, ash, white fir, and other species.

Many campsites are located among or near mature trees. Tree limbs—and occasionally trees themselves—can fall, particularly during windy conditions.

Camping beneath or near trees involves an inherent natural risk. Campers are responsible for assessing conditions and making sure members of their group understand these risks.

Camping in or near trees is at your own risk.

What should we do with our trash?

Please practice Leave No Trace principles and leave your campsite as clean—or cleaner—than you found it.

Small items such as bottle caps, straw wrappers, food packaging, and other lightweight trash are particularly easy to overlook.

Please:

• Collect all trash from your campsite.
• Do not leave trash anywhere on the property.
• Do not put bottles, cans, pet waste bags, or campsite trash in porta-potties.
• Place pet waste bags in your own campsite trash.
• Dispose of your collected trash in the designated dumpster.

Help us leave the Cowlitz River and surrounding land beautiful.

Are any parts of the property off limits?

Yes.

Any area marked “Closed,” “Do Not Enter,” or otherwise restricted is off limits to campers and Faire participants.

Please respect all fencing, signage, event boundaries, private areas, and instructions from Faire or campground staff.

Am I responsible for the other people camping with me?

Yes.

The person reserving or purchasing the campsite is responsible for making sure everyone in their group understands these camping guidelines.

Please share the driving directions in particular with everyone arriving separately.

Above all, we ask everyone to practice a simple rule:

Respect the land. Respect the river. Respect your neighbors.
